The Attributes of the Sabbath

Now there are so many misconceptions about the Sabbath, especially in the Christian faith. This is due to a lack of knowledge and listening to mans interpretation of Scripture instead of going to the Scripture itself. Though The Christian faith is not the only faith that has misconceptions about the Sabbath.

The Christians believe that the “Jewish Sabbath” is not relevant to them anymore, or that it does not matter which day you keep as the Sabbath, as long as you keep it once a week. Also they do not keep to the rules of the Sabbath as Scripture commands us to, as I have seen the majority of the church members and even the pastors and ministers in the Shopping centers on their so called “Sabbath day” (the first day also known as Sun-Day), then having a barbeque with friends etc. This is clearly not allowed according to the Word of the Almighty.

One of the biggest reasons why the Christians do not keep the Sabbath, or at least do not keep it on the Seventh Day, is because the Seventh Day is a day of sport and leisure in the world. If they were to obey the Scriptures, they would have to give up watching or even doing their favorite sports and activities, as that is usually the only time that the sports are played! And likewise, that is usually the only day they get to visit with certain friends, and it is too much of a burden to loose such friends.

There is a church that does have their sermons on the Sabbath day instead of the first day (Sun-day), The Seventh Day Adventists. The problem with this is that just changing the day you go to church to the Scriptural Sabbath Day is NOT keeping the Sabbath.

On the other extreme, let us look at the Jewish Sabbath. When I talk about the Jewish Sabbath, I am referring to the Rabbinical rules concerning the Sabbath. Now if you go to Israel today, the most shocking thing that you will realize is how many Jews do not observe the Sabbath anymore. This is because of all the EXTRA laws that were added to the Sabbath by the Rabbi’s that makes it literally impossible to keep all these laws of the Sabbath.

These Rabbinical laws were present even in the days of Y’shua Mashiyach. When the Pharisees tried to accuse Y’shua for breaking their traditions of the elders, Y’shua rebuked them for nullifying the Word of YHWH by their traditions (see Mark 7:1-8).

So it is very clear that we are still to keep the Sabbath of YHWH according to what the Scriptures teach us, as we will see below, nothing more and nothing less! So let us have a look at what the Scriptures (the Word of YHWH) teach us about the Sabbath:

Sabbath on the Seventh Day

“Six days work is done, but the seventh day is a Sabbath of rest, a set-apart gathering. You do no work, it is a Sabbath to יהוה (YHWH) in all your dwellings” (Lev 23:3)

“but the seventh day is a Sabbath of יהוה  your Elohim. You do not do any work – you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your ox, nor your donkey, nor any of your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates, so that your male servant and your female servant rest as you do” (Deut 5:14)

The Sabbath is a Commandment

“Guard the Sabbath day, to set it apart, as יהוה (YHWH) your Elohim commanded you” (Deut 5:12)

“nor take a burden out of your houses on the Sabbath day, nor do any work. And you shall set apart the Sabbath day, as I commanded your fathers” (Jeremiah 17:22)

The Sabbath is set apart

“For in six days יהוה (YHWH) made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore יהוה (YHWH) blessed the Sabbath day and set it apart” (Exodus 20:11)

“Remember the Sabbath day, to set it apart” (Exodus 20:8)

“And they are to stand as judges in a dispute, and judge it according to My right-rulings. And they are to guard My Torot (plural of Torah) and My laws in all My appointed festivals, and set apart My Sabbaths” (Eze 44:24)

You do no work on the Sabbath

“but the seventh day is a Sabbath of יהוה (YHWH) your Elohim. You do not do any work – you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates” (Exodus 20:10)

“Work is done for six days, but on the seventh day it shall be set-apart to you, a Sabbath of rest to יהוה (YHWH) Anyone doing work on it is put to death” (Exodus 35:2)

“Six days work is done, and on the seventh is a Sabbath of rest, set-apart to יהוה (YHWH). Everyone doing work on the Sabbath day shall certainly be put to death” (Exo 31:15)

No food is to be prepared on the Sabbath

“And יהוה  said to Mosheh, “See, I am raining bread from the heavens for you. And the people shall go out and gather a day’s portion every day, in order to try them, whether they walk in My Torah or not.

And it shall be on the sixth day that they shall prepare what they bring in, and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily” (Exodus 16:4)

“And when evening had come, because it was the Preparation Day, that is, the day before the Sabbath” (Mark 15:42)

Do not kindle a fire on the Sabbath

“Do not kindle a fire in any of your dwellings on the Sabbath day.” (Exodus 35:3)

Do not do your own pleasures on the Sabbath

“If you do turn back your foot from the Sabbath, from doing your pleasure on My set-apart day, and shall call the Sabbath ‘a delight,’ the set-apart day of יהוה  (YHWH) ‘esteemed,’ and shall esteem it, not doing your own ways, nor finding your own pleasure, nor speaking your own words” (Isaiah 58:13)

The Sabbath is a set apart gathering

The Sabbath is a sign

“And you, speak to the children of Yisra’ĕl, saying, ‘My Sabbaths you are to guard, by all means, for it is a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, to know that I, יהוה (YHWH), am setting you apart” (Exodus 31:13)

“And I also gave them My Sabbaths, to be a sign between them and Me, to know that I am יהוה (YHWH) who sets them apart” (Eze 20:12)

“And set apart My Sabbaths, and they shall be a sign between Me and you, to know that I am יהוה (YHWH) your Elohim” (Eze 20:20)

Do good on the Sabbath

“Then יהושע (Y’shua) said to them, “I ask you, is it right to do good on the Sabbath, or to do evil, to save life or to destroy it?” (Luke 6:9)

“And He said to them, “Is it right to do good on the Sabbath, or to do evil, to save life or to kill?” But they remained silent” (Mark 3:4)

“And He said to them, “What man is there among you who has one sheep, and if it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, shall not take hold of it and lift it out?

Mat 12:12 “How much more worth is a man than a sheep! So it is right to do good on the Sabbath” (Mat 12:11-12)

What happens if you profane the Sabbath

“And you shall guard the Sabbath, for it is set-apart to you. Everyone who profanes it shall certainly be put to death, for anyone who does work on it, that being shall be cut off from among his people” (Exodus 31:14)

“And while the children of Yisra’ĕl were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering sticks on the Sabbath day

And those who found him gathering sticks brought him to Mosheh and to Aharon, and to all the congregation.

And they put him in under guard, because it had not been declared what should be done to him.

And יהוה (YHWH) said to Mosheh, “The man shall certainly be put to death, all the congregation stoning him with stones outside the camp.”

And all the congregation brought him outside the camp and stoned him with stones, as יהוה (YHWH) commanded Mosheh, and he died” (Num 15:32-36)

“In those days I saw in Yehuḏah those treading wine presses on the Sabbath, and bringing in sheaves, and loading donkeys with wine, grapes, and figs, and all kinds of burdens, which they brought into Yerushalayim on the Sabbath day. So I warned them on the day they sold food

And men of Tsor dwelt there, bringing in fish and all kinds of goods, and sold them on the Sabbath to the children of Yehuḏah, and in Yerushalayim.

Then I contended with the nobles of Yehuḏah, and said to them, “What evil matter is this that you are doing, profaning the Sabbath day?

Did not your fathers do the same so that our Elohim brought all this evil on us and on this city? Yet you bring added wrath on Yisra’ĕl by profaning the Sabbath” (Neh 13:15-18)

Who is the Sabbath for?

“And when the Yehuḏim went out of the congregation, the gentiles begged to have these words spoken to them the next Sabbath” (Acts 13:42)

“So there remains a Sabbath-keeping for the people of Elohim” (Hebrews 4:9)

 “And pray that your flight does not take place in winter or on the Sabbath” (Mat 24:20)

The Sabbath is a rest day

Now, as you can see, the Sabbath is a delight for the children of YHWH. It is a day of rest and replenishment in Scripture. It is also a sign that we are the Children of YHWH. Do you really want to profane it?

Shabbat

“For the Master of the Shabbat is the Son of man.” (Matthew 12:8)

What makes Shabbat so very special is that Y’hoshua Mashiyach is Master of Shabbat. Those who celebrate the Shabbat in Mashiyach recognize that Mashiyach is the eternal connection and the reason for Shabbat. Like anyone who hosts a celebration, they have purpose and reason for it that is conveyed to those who attend: and Shabbat, of course, is the weekly event of Mashiyach. Mashiyach was, is and forever will be the reason for Shabbat and this has been evident since Shabbat was given at the Creation of the World. Shabbat is the completion of the week where the spiritual man rests and rejuvenates his spirit, soul and body in Mashiyach.

Most folks understand that after six days of “work” that the Creator wasn’t “all tuckered out”, but He gave rest to those who would recognize His role in our lives. He rested from His works which means He delighted and was very satisfied with all that He created, therefore part of the “rest” we enter into is to enjoy the “fruits” of His and our own labours in Him. The greatest fruit of YHWH’s labour was to make man in His Image, so that man could build, invent, plan and fulfill his own dreams and enter into (join) that rest that YHWH Himself Created. When YHWH’s people enter into His Shabbat (rest) they are connecting with Mashiyach. However, what was intended as spiritual rest and unity with Mashiyach was soon reduced by many into a ritual effort of the flesh, an intellectual theological idea and a socio-political factor that took on humanist and Gnostic interpretations, making it a “burden” rather than a blessing.

Many Christians follow religious traditions that teach that “it doesn’t matter which day you keep as Shabbat” because they’ve never personally experienced true Shabbat rest. Going to church on Saturday verses Sunday isn’t automatically going to bring a person into Shabbat rest. It is Mashiyach who establishes Shabbat within the soul which is why it is foolhardy for religious men to conjure up with their own “Shabbat”…and posture Sunday as the Shabbat. Obviously if Christians would have realized that Mashiyach is the substance of the Seventh Day Shabbat, they would not have abandoned Shabbat. Most Christians believe that Mashiyach created all things (Ephesians 3:9, Colossians 1:16, Revelation 4:11) but for some reason many don’t make the connection that it was Mashiyach’s rest in Genesis: “And Elohim blessed the Seventh Day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which Elohim created and made” (Genesis 2:3).

How did Christianity switch from Shabbat to Sunday?

Christians take their authority for Sunday as “the Lord’s Day” from the post-apostolic Gentile founders of the Gentile church; “The celebration of the Lord’s Day in memory of the resurrection of Christ dates undoubtedly from the apostolic age. Nothing short of apostolic precedent can account for the universal religious observance in the churches of the second century. There is no dissenting voice. This custom is confirmed by the testimonies of the earliest post-apostolic writers, as Barnabas, Ignatius, and Justin Martyr.” (Philip Schaff, vol. 1, pg. 201-202). Did you catch the spin? Confirmed by the testimonies of the earliest post-apostolic writers who were none other than who?

Ignatius (AD 107) writes: “Be not deceived with strange doctrines, nor with old fables, which are unprofitable. For if we still live according to the Jewish law, we acknowledge that we have not received grace…If, therefore, those who were brought up in the ancient order of things have come to the possession of a new hope, no longer observing Sabbaths, but fashioning their lives after the Lord’s Day, on which also our life has sprung up again by Him and by His death (which some deny), through which mystery we received faith, and on account of which we suffer in order that we may be found disciples of Jesus Christ our only teacher, how shall we be able to live apart from him for whom even the prophets were looking as their teacher since they were his disciples in the spirit?... let every friend of Christ keep the Lord’s Day as a festival, the resurrection-day, the queen and chief of all the days of the week. It is absurd to speak of Jesus Christ with the tongue, and to cherish in the mind a Judaism which is now come to an end. For where there is Christianity there cannot be Judaism… These things I address to you, my beloved, not that I know any of you to be in such a state; but, as less than any of you, I desire to guard you beforehand, that ye fall not upon the hooks of vain doctrine, but that you may rather attain to a full assurance in Christ…” (Ignatius, Epistle to the Magnesians, Chapters 8-9). Ignatius very clearly contests the Seventh Day Shabbat; he sees those who observe Shabbat as putting “the hooks of vain doctrine,” whereas his Sunday doctrine is held supreme. The authority of changing the Seventh Day Shabbat to the Sun-day is clearly that of Ignatius!

Epistle of Barnabas (AD 74-132): “Moreover God says to the Jews, “Your new moons and Sabbaths cannot endure.” You see how he says, “The present Sabbaths are not acceptable to me, but the Sabbath which I have made in which, when I have rested from all things, I will make the beginning of the eighth day which is the beginning of another world.” Wherefore we Christians keep the eighth day for joy, on which also Jesus arose from the dead and when he appeared ascended into heaven.” (The Letter of Barnabas, 15:6-8). Notice how this “Barnabas” suggests that his own words are straight from God? This “Barnabas” of course, is NOT the same person as Bar-Naba (Paul’s travelling companion). This is Barnabas of Alexandria (a Gentile Christian) who claimed to have “perfect knowledge” of Christianity. Origen refers to this letter as “a Catholic epistle”. Hilgenfeld, who devoted much attention to the epistle of Barnabas writes, “it is written at the close of the first century by a Gentile Christian of the school of Alexandria, with the view of winning back, or guarding from a Judaic form of Christianity, those Christians belonging to the same class as himself.”

Even to this day many Christian theologians are not aware that the Epistle of Barnabas was a forgery! It was written by someone who viewed Torah observance as purely Jewish material observance of ceremonial ordinances, of which the literal fulfillment was not sufficient, and the work of the Devil, and, according to him, Jews never received the divine Covenant because they never understood its nature (ch. Vii, 3, 11, ix, 7; x, 10; xiv). This “Barnabas” of Alexandria teaches that it was never intended that the precepts of the Law should be observed in their literal sense, that Jews never had a covenant with YHWH, that circumcision was the work of the Devil, etc. in his opinion, Jews did not know how to rise to the spiritual and typical meaning which YHWH intended when giving them the Torah.

However, the real Barnabas, who was Paul’s travelling companion, was a Levite and a zealous Torah Observant follower of Mashiyach Y’hoshua. The difference between the real Barnabas and the impostor from Alexandria is like the difference between day and night, yet modern Christian theologians continue to place heavy value on the letter of a false witness. The fact of the matter is that Rome built a church on a false premise; by instituting Sunday the Roman Church took authority over the original Apostles and the Word of YHWH.

Council of Laodicea (AD 360): “Christians should not Judaize and should not be idle on the Sabbath, but should work on that day; they should, however, particularly reverence the Lord’s day and, if possible, not work on it, because they were Christians” (Council of Laodicea, canon 29). In 325 AD Constantine declared Sunday as the official day of Christian worship throughout the Roman Empire. From this point onward, if you were a Jewish follower of Mashiyach and you were caught keeping the Shabbat, your life and any Hebrew writings about Y’hoshua would have been in great danger.

Pope Gregory I (AD 597): “But after that the grace of almighty God, our Lord Jesus Christ, has appeared, the commandments of the Law which were spoken figuratively cannot be kept according to the letter. For if anyone says that this about the Sabbath is to be kept, he must needs say that carnal sacrifices are to be offered.” (Gal 5:2) (Letters 13:1). Even in those days there was a remnant of Christians who were observing the Seventh Day Shabbat. But most Christians come under the Catholic authority with this same pathetic line of reasoning, that if one were to observe Shabbat they should also do animal sacrifice. Herein is the evidence of who, how, when and why the Seventh Day Shabbat was perverted by Gentile Christianity. The original followers of Y’hoshua knew nothing of this perversion; it was done solely by Gentile minded men, none of which had ever met or learned from Y’hoshua’s disciples or the original Shlichim.

“Hence, the first day was already in the apostolic age honourably designated as ‘the Lord’s Day.’ …it appears, therefore, from the New Testament itself, that Sunday was observed as a day of worship, and in special commemoration of the Resurrection, whereby the work of redemption was finished. The universal and uncontradicted Sunday observance in the second century can only be explained by the fact that it has its roots in apostolic practice.” (Philip Schaff, vol. 1, pg. 478-479). Sunday observance is clearly a Second Century invention. The Gentile Christian “apostles” who invented and endorsed Sunday as the counterfeit Shabbat have been clearly named; their own pens witness of their willful violations against the Word of YHWH. They wrote with a deep anti-Semitic bias which also fuelled the cultural acceptance of the Sunday rising Christ. Here Philip Schaff shows a profound disregard for all Torah observant followers of Y’hoshua by suggesting a “universal and uncontradicted Sunday observance” when in fact, throughout church history, Gentile Church founders have levied ongoing scathing rebukes against followers of Mashiyach who observe the Seventh Day Shabbat. The very fact that Gentile Christian writers are aggressively defending Sunday and warning Christians against Shabbat is clear evidence that many Christians refused to follow the cunningly devised fable of the Christo-Pagan initiated Sunday observance.

Mashiyach is Master of Shabbat

Mashiyach is Master of Shabbat and all who enter into his rest on the Seventh Day Shabbat are sanctifying the Word of YHWH according to Mashiyach. Even Jews who don’t regard Y’hoshua as Mashiyach but who are observing Shabbat are doing so because of the Word of YHWH, which is of course Mashiyach

All Netzarim followers of Mashiyach Y’hoshua encourage everyone of all religious backgrounds and ethnicities to seek the Ancient Paths of Mashiyach and enter into the rest of Mashiyach each Shabbat. Shabbat is a time to deny yourself the daily mundane material tasks and let your spirit become elevated in Mashiyach. Psalm 92 is the Shabbat Psalm which concludes, “To show that YHWH is upright: He is my Rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.” Apostle Paul taught: “Let no (pagan) therefore judge you about food and drink, or about the distinctions of festivals and new moons and Shabbats which were shadows of the things then future; but the body of Mashiyach” (Colossians 2:16-17). Mashiyach gave these festivals, new moons and Shabbats to the body of Mashiyach and therefore, we are entrusted to guard these precious Moadim (Appointments) as unto him. Don’t ever let worldly people or certain groups judge you for your obedience to the Truth!

THE IMPORTANCE OF THE SABBATH

THE Sabbath

Berayshit (Gen)2:2-3  And He ceased(Shabbat) on the seventh(sheva) day from all His work which He had made. And Elohim blessed the seventh(sheva) day and set it apart(Kadosh); because on it He Shabbat from all His work which Elohim purposed to create.

The letters in red are the actual words in the Hebrew text: Which means the sheva day ( seventh, perfection and oath) was a Shabbat day, a Day of ceasing.

Shabbat means to cease and rest; and that happens on the seventh day which is a day of perfection and an oath. That day was blessed and set apart by Elohim Himself and Adam knew that because he was there when Elohim set it apart.

The Fourth Commandment

Exodus 20:8- Remember the Sabbath day to set it apart. Six days you shall labour and do all your work. And the seventh(sheva) day is a Sabbath to YHWH your Elohim;  you shall not do any work, you, and your son and your daughter, your male slave, your female slave, and your cattle, and your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days YHWH made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all which is in them, and He rested on the Sheva, therefore YHWH blessed the Sabbath day and set it apart.

YHWH is repeating the oath He made in the beginning here in the fourth commandment, it is the same one.

Sabbath (Seventh Day of the Week): This day was blessed and set apart by Elohim at creation (Ber. 2:2-3). Later on it was instituted as the sign of the everlasting covenant between Elohim and His people, a sign that He sets them apart, an everlasting sign (Shem. 31:13-17,  Exodis 31:13 “And you, speak to the children of Yisra’Ãl, saying, ‘My Sabbaths you are to guard, by all means, for it is  a sign between Me and you throughout your generations, to know that I, YHWH, am setting you apart.”

(Ezekiel. 20:12-20). Sabbath-keeping is one of the Ten Words of the Covenant, standing forever, settled forever in heaven, founded forever (Ps. 89:34, PS. 111:8-9, Ps. 119:89). We would like to point out the following:

(1) Yeshua kept the Sabbath (Lk. 4:16, Yn.15:10), and the women who were taught by Him still kept it at the time of Messiah’s burial (Lk. 23:56).

(2) Sha’ul kept it (Acts 13:14, Acts 13:42-44, Acts 17:2, Acts 18:4 & 11).

(3) Ludia and the women kept it (Acts16:13).

(4) In Heb. 4:9 we are again reminded of the necessity of keeping the Sabbath!

(5) Finally: After the end-time judgment has come upon this earth (Isaiah. 66), and a new heavens and a new earth is established, we read in Isaiah. 66:23 that the Sabbath shall still be kept!

(6) Who then changed it to Sunday, in effect nullifying it? In Dan. 7:25 we read of a horn, a sovereign (remember: in those days the gentiles regarded their sovereigns as deities). This one is often interpreted as being the Anti-Messiah, the enemy of the Chosen People. In Dan. 7:25 we read that he would “intend to change appointed times (or, festivals) and law.” The RCC openly boast that they changed the Sabbath to Sunday. This change was preceded by Emperor Constantine legislating, in the year 321, that “the venerable day of the Sun” was to be kept as a day of rest by penalty of death. Remember: Constantine was a worshipper of Sol Invictus, the sun-deity. The “Church” soon followed suit, and in the year 336 (some give the date as 364), at the Council of Laodicea, Canon 29, the Christians were commanded to observe the Sunday as well. Bishop Eusebius (270-338CE), who worked with Constantine, admits to the Church’s decision to change from Sabbath to Sunday.

If YHWH set the Sabbath apart, and Yeshua is the master of the Sabbath (Mat. 12:8), then who is man to choose for himself when the Sabbath of YHWH is?

We should stop allowing others to tell us what to believe and start reading to understand the word just as it is for ourselves.

Mat.22:8-12“But you, do not be called ‘Rabbi,’ for One is your Teacher, the Messiah, and you are all brothers. “And do not call anyone on earth your Father, for One is your Father, He who is in the heavens. “Neither be called leaders, for One is your Leader, the Messiah.  “But the greatest among you shall be your servant. “And whoever exalts himself shall be humbled, and whoever humbles himself shall be exalted.”

I will not quote the rest of this scripture here as you should read it for yourself.

Just to add to the message above:

Some people remark that we don’t know when the seventh day is anymore. The Christians use this argument a lot, trying to justify there pagan Sunday Worship practice. Here is just a little information proving that we have always known when the seventh day is:

The calendar has not been changed so as to confuse the days of the week. We can be positive that our seventh day is the same day Y’shua observed when He was here. Pope Gregory XIII did make a calendar change in 1582, but it did not interfere with the weekly cycle. Our present Gregorian calendar was named after him when he made that small change in 1582.

What did Pope Gregory do to the calendar? Before 1582 the Julian calendar had been in effect, instituted by Julius Ceasar about 46 B.C. and named after him. But the Julian calendar had calculated the length of the year as 365 1/4 days, and the year is actually eleven minutes less than 365 1/4 days. Those eleven minutes accumulated, and by 1582 the numbering of the calendar was ten days out of harmony with the solar system. Gregory simply dropped those ten days out of the numbering of the calendar. It was Thursday, October 4, 1582, and the next day, Friday, should have been October 5. But Gregory made it October 15 instead, dropping exactly ten days to bring the calendar back into harmony with the heavenly bodies.

Were the days of the week confused? No. Friday still followed Thursday, and Saturday still followed Friday. The same seventh day remained, and the weekly cycle was not disturbed in the least. When we keep the seventh day on Saturday, we are observing the same day Y’shua kept, and He did it every week according to Luke 4:16.

So basically, if we want to be part of YHWH’s people and be saved, we have to keep THE Seventh day Sabbath and all His commands. Otherwise we are serving another who is the Anti-Messiah.

IT’S NOT ABOUT US

IT’S NOT ABOUT US

First of all serving the Almighty is not about us, it is not what we can gain from it or anything else, but it is all about the Almighty. We are nothing without Him and all deserve to die, and if we disobey Him and do thing our own way, then we WILL die

So who am I going to want to follow, the Almighty or mere mortal men?

Unfortunately Christianity has become a man based religion, preaching sweet words into the people’s ears. For what? So that the church can grow and make bigger financial profit.

 A good illustration of this is: everyone will agree that there is only ONE original scripture written (inspired), but there are so many different translations that differ considerably from each other.

Also people want to serve in there own way. That is why there are so many different church denominations that all call themselves Christian, but differ in there teachings.

Ever heard someone say that they go to a specific church because that church suites them the best (suites their lifestyle)? They don’t go to the other churches because they don’t like what they hear? Should we not change ourselves and our lifestyle to fall in line with what the Scriptures teach us?

Christianity has become all about me and how I can prosper and do the things that I want to do…etc    where is there space for the Almighty there????

"And do not call yourself Father, for your Father is one who is in heaven. And you should not be called leaders, because one is your leader, the Messiah" (Matthew 23:9-1)

The church obviously ignores this passage.

So, now we have to make the decision, am I going to follow man who calls himself a leader or the Almighty in heaven?

If you choose the Almighty and everlasting life, then read on. Otherwise you can close this page now.

 Lets look at some misconceptions:

First of all, there is no such thing as a ‘new testament’ or an ‘old testament’, that change has been added by a man.

Secondly, nothing of the ‘old testament’ has been done away with. Many Christians say that it has been done away with and we don’t have to obey it anymore, then they quote Matthew 5:17 and say that the law has been fulfilled, and that it means we don’t have to obey it anymore.

But what does fulfill mean?

Lets read that passage together:

Matthew 5:17 (KJV) Think not that I am come to destroy the law (oh, so the law has not been destroyed), or the prophets (the profits either): I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. (‘fulfill’ means to carry out or to bring to realization, to perform or do, as in a person’s duty.)

Wow… that definitely does not mean ‘done away with’ but actually means to do, to obey etc.

Lets read the next couple of verses too.

Mat 5:18  For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Mat 5:19  Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Mat 5:20  For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Even a 10 year old can see by reading the scripture, the words of the Messiah Himself, and not listening to the theologians (leaders), that the law has not fallen away.

In fact, the Messiah is the Torah in the flesh. John 1:1-2 tells us this.

The Messiah died without sin because he kept the whole Torah. He lived a life that we should imitate. So if the Messiah kept the Torah (and it is written, He is the same yesterday, today and forever) why then has it changed that we don’t have to follow the Torah any more?

If we can look at it now, we can see that the church is at error. One example is that the church does not keep the 10 commandments (not called the 10 suggestions, for a reason.)

For example… the 4^th commandment is:

"Remember the Sabbath day, to set it apart. 9. six days you labour, and do all your work, 10. but the seventh day is a Sabbath of ‘the Almighty’ your Elohim (Mighty One). You do not do any work - you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. 11. For in six days ‘the Almighty’ made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore ‘the Almighty’ blessed the Sabbath day and set it apart" (Exodus 20:8-11)

Does the church keep the Sabbath…. NO

They have changed the set apart day to the first day, or Sun-day. (Please tell me by who’s authority have they done this?)

This is just a simple example, there are so many (almost everything), that the church is in error with.

So, are you still going to want to follow the Almighty into everlasting life, even though by doing so is going to get you ridiculed and even thrown out? Or is it just easier to go with the flow and follow after the beast, into distruction?

The Father is very strict that we should obey Him. If we choose to follow Him, then we should do it the way He commanded us to, not how we think we should.

He gave us the Torah as instruction on how to follow him. In fact, 75% of the ‘new testament’ is quoting the Torah.

People have been struck dead immediately before by disobeying the Almighty.

One example of this is in 2 Sam 6:6-7

Should we be like the Jews and follow Torah?

Well, the Jews (although they are part of the Almighty’s nation) do follow Torah, but most of them also follow the Talmud, which is also know as ‘the oral law’ which is also a bunch of man made (Rabbi) rules that are not Scriptural. Most Jews also do not accept the Messiah.

We should not be like any people but follow the Scripture and the true original scripture alone.

That does mean that we are going to have to learn more about the Hebrew culture and possibly even learn the Hebrew language to a certain degree too. As the scripture was written in the Hebrew language by Hebrews to Hebrews. There are many things in the Hebrew Scriptures that cannot be found in the English bibles.

And yes… we are called to obey the whole Torah as it is written!!
